13. Configure Restaurants and Meals

School Meals Pro allows each meal product to be connected to a restaurant.

First, go to School Meals > Restaurants.

To add a restaurant:

1. Enter the restaurant name.
2. Add an optional contact email.
3. Select an optional WordPress user.
4. Add any internal notes.
5. Click Add Restaurant.

The assigned WordPress user records who is associated with the restaurant. It does not automatically create a restaurant reporting portal.

Saved restaurants can be edited or deleted from the same page.

After creating the restaurants, go to School Meals > Meals Setup.

The Meals Setup table displays:

• Product
• Meal Day
• Categories
• Price
• Restaurant
• Deduction
• Final Payout

Select the restaurant responsible for each meal product.

Enter the deduction amount that should be subtracted for each item sold.

For example:

• Product price: $8.00
• Deduction per item: $1.00
• Final payout per item: $7.00

The meal day and categories are displayed for reference. They are not edited from Meals Setup.

Click Save Meals Setup after assigning the restaurants and deductions.

Meals Setup currently lists simple WooCommerce products. Restaurant payouts use the restaurant and deduction currently saved on each product.
