When enabled, available wallet balance reduces the next eligible School Meals cart total automatically—up to the available balance or order total.

Wallet calculations and debits support classic WooCommerce checkout and Store API Cart and Checkout blocks, including orders fully covered by credit.
Parent transaction history
A Wallet page in WooCommerce My Account shows the available balance and a dated history with descriptions, linked orders, and positive or negative amounts.
Administrative adjustments
Authorized staff can add or remove wallet credit for a customer. Every manual adjustment requires a reason and records the administrator who made it.

Search customers, filter accounts with available credit, view total credited and used amounts, separate cancellation and manual credits, and inspect detailed history.

Credit is recordedWallet adds a “Cancelled Meal Credit” transaction linked to the parent, order, and item. A unique reference prevents the same cancellation from being credited twice.

Failure and cancellation handling
Restore credit without double-counting
If an order that used wallet balance becomes cancelled or failed, the used amount can be restored. The reconciliation subtracts credits already granted for individually cancelled meal items before adding any remaining restoration.

Transaction integrity
Balance updates designed to resist duplication
Wallet operations acquire a per-user database lock while calculating and writing the next balance. Unique reference keys make repeat requests return the existing transaction instead of inserting a second credit or debit.
Balances are never silently deleted. Administrators can disable wallet use during checkout without removing existing balances or transaction history.

Does Wallet decide whether a meal can be cancelled?
No. School Meals or School Meals Portal validates and performs the cancellation. Wallet receives the approved amount and records the resulting credit.
Can a cancellation be credited twice?
The integration uses a unique reference tied to the cancelled order item. Repeated attempts with the same reference return the existing transaction instead of creating another credit.
How is wallet balance used at checkout?
When checkout credit is enabled, the plugin automatically applies the smaller of the available balance or order total. The remaining amount is paid through the normal WooCommerce checkout flow.
What happens if wallet credit covers the full order?
The order total can reach zero, and Store API checkout is informed that no additional payment is needed when the saved balance fully covers the order.
Can administrators correct a balance?
Yes. Staff with WooCommerce management permission can add or remove an amount after selecting a customer. A written reason is mandatory and remains in transaction history.
Will activation erase existing wallet data?
No. The standalone add-on continues using the existing School Meals wallet transaction table and order metadata, preserving balances, cancellation credits, and transaction history.
